New SOG Knives for SHOT Show 2014

We found SOG Knives back in the crazy corner again at Range Day. Apparently, when you have tomahawk throwing on hand, they want you well clear of the masses. They had a few new product on hand, however you can expect to see more coverage once the official show opens. To kick things off they have a new entrenching tool simply known as SOG E-Tool. The polymer shovel handle unscrews revealing a saw that can be reversed and screwed back into place for easy sawing utilizing the shovel handle.

SOG is releasing two new assisted opening knives call the Zoom and Mini Zoom with an ergonomic grip and speedy flip.

Expanding on their Hunting Line as well as their flashlight combo, SOG is introducing the Bladelight Hunt utilizing the same technology, but with the hunter aesthetic. We also got word that they will be releasing their first filet knife as well as a camping knife.

SOG Revolver Hunt 2.0
The SOG Revolver Hunt 2.0 knife is an all-in-one package for big game hunters. A 3 1/2-inch AUS8 stainless-steel blade has two business ends: one with a double-toothed saw tipped with a gut hook for field-dressing, and the other is a razor-sharp blade fit for skinning and boning. You can flip the blade by pressing a rigid “unlock” button on one side of the blaze-orange handle. On the other side of the handle, you can release a built-in mini sharpening tool. Includes a black leather sheath. MSRP: $70.


SOG Blade Light Hunt
The SOG Blade Light Hunt knife features a 3 1/2-inch AUS8 stainless-steel blade. Six built-in LEDs point down both sides of the blade, emitting a total of 35 lumens of light to help you safely guide the knife during after-dark cutting tasks. The lighting system runs on a single AAA battery for up to 4 hours of continuous run time. Includes a black leather sheath. MSRP: $92.


SOG Zoom Mini
The SOG Zoom Mini knife features a 3 1/4-inch AUS8 stainless-steel blade. This feather-light assisted-opening knife flicks into commission with ease, but is made safe with the touch of a push-button blade lock. An aluminum handle contains a reversible pocket clip for left- or right-handed carriers. MSRP: $100.

Here is a first look at some of Kershaw's new products for 2014. KAI brought us the Blackwash finish last year on select Kershaw and ZT models. This year, Kershaw will expand their Blackwash lineup with several additional models, including existing favorites and a few new designs.

The Leek and Blur, mainstays of the Kershaw lineup, will both add a new variation featuring a Blackwash DLC finish. The recent Rick Hinderer and RJ Martin collaborations (Cryo, Thermite, and Scrambler) will also be offered with a black-oxide Blackwash finish. For those wanting a more aggressive look, Kershaw has a new model Cryo and Cryo II with a fierce-looking Blackwashed tanto blade. For budget-conscious collectors and users just venturing into the knife world, Kershaw created a new Starter series for 2014 that will also all feature the Blackwash finish.

Pictures don't do the Blackwash finish justice. They have to be seen first-hand to really appreciate how fantastic they look. Like a good heavy stonewash, the Blackwash effectively masks most wear, so the finish will look as good after being put to use as it does new. To borrow an expression from KAI - OWN IT!

 

Many people love the Kershaw Blur. It doesn’t take long to look up the staggering amount of different variations, and see that for the past 12 years it has been a perennial fan favorite. There has really only been one gripe, “Where’s the flipper?”

For those who have posed this question, here is your answer! The all new 2014 Kershaw Camber!

The Camber takes all the great things about a Blur and puts them into a stunning new package. The handles have less trac-tec for easier pocket-ability yet retains enough for grip in harsh conditions. The aluminum handles are also nicely sculpted to fit your hand just right. A reversible pocket clip ensures you can pocket it whether a righty or southpaw. The Camber also shows off the new chiseled Kershaw logo proudly! This new slice of greatness will be sporting tried and tested S30v blade steel to help you complete the most unforgiving of tasks. Lastly the blade is given a proper stonewash that is not only for form but function alike.

Speedsafe opener, Opens with flipper, Secure liner lock, Reversible deep carry pocket clip (left, right). 6061-T6 anodized aluminum handles, with Trac-tec inserts for extra grip, 3 inch blade and closed length is 4.2 inches. MSRP $139.95, so street price will be lower!

 

Kershaw Joined forces with Dmitry Sinkevich for 2014 to create the Nura 3.0 and Nura 3.5. The Nura models have a "aerospace" feel, inspired by Dmitry's engineering background.

Both the 3.0 and 3.5 are using 8cr13mov steel, KVT bearings, and are frame lock flippers. The handles are Titanium Carbo-Nitride coated 410 stainless, with sanded flats for a clean two-tone affect.

This will be the first imported Kershaw to use KVT bearings, did I mention both the 3.0 and 3.5 only have an MSRP of $54.00?

Here is a first look at the upcoming collaborations between KAI and Emerson Knives. They will all feature Emerson's patented wave opening feature with a few liner locks and full FRAMELOCKS!!! I will add details to this posting as I get them for you.

First up the Kershaw collaborations. These will be import models featuring 8cr13mov steel. They have steel framelocks with the wave feature. They also have opening disks for tose that prefer that opening method.

These are all designed by Ernie Emerson, they are unproduced designs seeing the light of day for the first time. They will be getting the full Kershaw production treatment, which means great quality and an excellent price. There will be several sizes and color combos available...check these out:
